Service overview
Emergency electrical fault finding and make-safe repairs
We respond to urgent electrical issues for homeowners, landlords, and commercial sites. Our priority is to reduce risk, isolate faults, and carry out safe repairs or temporary measures until a full remedial fix can be completed.
What counts as an electrical emergency?
Situations that present an immediate risk to people or property—such as burning smells, visible arcing, overheating sockets, repeated tripping, partial power loss, or water affecting electrics—should be treated as emergencies.
Response expectations
We will advise you on immediate safety steps, then attend as quickly as possible depending on location, access, and current workload. On arrival, we will isolate the issue, test, and explain the safest next steps before any work proceeds.
Safety guidance while you wait
If safe to do so, switch off the affected circuit at the consumer unit. Do not touch hot, sparking, or wet electrical equipment. Keep people away from the area and call 999 if there is fire, smoke, or immediate danger.
Common emergency call-outs
Loss of power to part or all of a property, RCD/MCB tripping, burning smells from sockets or consumer units, buzzing/overheating fittings, damaged cables, and faults after storms, leaks, or building works.
Emergency electrician FAQs
Clear answers to common questions about urgent electrical faults, safety, and what happens during an emergency visit.
Do you cover London, Kent, and the South East?
Yes. We provide emergency call-outs across London, Kent, and the South East. Availability can vary by time of day and distance.
Is a tripping RCD always an emergency?
Not always, but it can indicate a dangerous fault. If the RCD will not reset, trips repeatedly, or you notice heat, burning smells, or buzzing, treat it as urgent and switch off the affected circuit if safe.
What should I do if I smell burning from a socket or consumer unit?
Turn off power at the consumer unit if it is safe to approach, keep clear of the area, and call us. If there is smoke or fire, call 999 immediately.
Can you restore power the same day?
Often, yes—once the fault is identified and it is safe to proceed. In some cases we may need to make-safe first and return with parts or schedule remedial work.
Will I receive certification for emergency work?
Where certification is required, we will provide the appropriate documentation for the work carried out, in line with Part P and current regulations.
Do you work with landlords and commercial sites?
Yes. We support landlords, managing agents, and businesses with urgent repairs, make-safe visits, and follow-up remedial works with clear reporting.
